Correction: Socket size to open bolt that holds the zinc on lower unit is 1/2 inch not 1 and 1/2.

The process to replace pump is almost same for most of Mercury and Mercruiser units, some units use rubber seal that goes on top of water pump assembly (Thanks to JP) for pointing. Link to Crowley's Marine Mercury lower unit set up listed below.
